How does it work?

With any debit card, credit card or mobile phone, your guests can easily activate and pay for electricity — 100% contactless. Read here what’s possible with the Tap&Go payment terminal.

How does the system work financially?

After ordering the products, we link the owner’s bank account to the payment terminal. This is done via a Payment Service Provider (PSP). A PSP is a company that processes payments from the terminal and provides the technical infrastructure for payment methods (debit and credit cards) and financial institutions.

This way, every payment from users goes directly to the owner’s bank account without any intermediaries. Guests pay directly with their debit card, credit card or mobile phone. At the start of a session, the payment is reserved, ensuring it is guaranteed.

In your PSP portal, you can see which revenues have been paid out on a daily basis. Each month, you can enter the revenue into your accounting system.

You can set your own tariffs: a starting fee, time-based fee or kWh tariff — all adjustable online. New rates are immediately applied at the payment terminal for all new customers.

In addition to electricity, we can also enable payments for water and other facilities such as showers. You set the prices for your guests and receive the money directly!

How does the system work technically?

All power pedestals are connected to our control system via the telecom mast. The payment terminal is also connected to this system. As soon as a guest makes a payment (reservation), the system activates the power supply and starts measuring consumption. At the end of the session, the system calculates the usage and charges the costs against the reserved amount.

Guests can download a receipt via a QR code on the payment terminal. Payments are therefore 100% guaranteed, just like at an unmanned fuel station.

You will need at least one Tap&Go payment terminal per location to handle payments. One Tap&Go can manage all power pedestals on a site, so you only need one regardless of the number of pedestals. The best practice is to place the Tap&Go terminal in a central and easily accessible location.

Setup and web portal

Through the web portal you can adjust your tariffs in real time. You can also view and download all transactions and revenues in the portal — per terminal, per location, per day. This way you always know exactly what you’re earning.

The portal also lets you easily analyze statistics and charts. You can adjust customer prices whenever you like, and even set rates per socket: a start fee, a unit price (kWh or liter) or a time-based rate (per minute, hour, day).

In addition, you can configure the languages displayed on the Tap&Go terminal so that guests can choose their preferred language. All languages are supported, allowing every guest to pay in their own language.

Order and install

You can order power pedestals and payment terminals directly from our webshop. Everything is delivered ready-to-use by post, with a 2-year warranty on all hardware. Installation is straightforward.

The power pedestals and payment terminal are shipped as parcel post, including a (digital) installation manual. Installation simply involves digging the pits, laying the cables and securing the pedestals and terminal. All tariffs are pre-configured for you, and the pedestals automatically connect to the control system as soon as power is switched on.
